What We Offer
Minds of Light is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded and led by autistic adults who transform lived experience into leadership. We empower autistic and neurodivergent youth and adults to build independence, emotional resilience, confidence, communication, self-advocacy, and meaningful employment through emotional intelligence education, mentoring, and community partnership.
We believe success in life and work begins with understanding and managing emotions. Our L.I.G.H.T. Program, which stands for Learning, Independence, Growth, Helping Thrive, brings emotional intelligence together with mentoring, confidence building, communication, self-advocacy, and employment support to help members move toward long-term success.
Each member creates a personalized plan that connects emotional growth to practical goals in leadership, independence, and employment. Our trauma-informed approach helps every participant feel safe, supported, and understood.
L.I.G.H.T. Program: Coaching, Community, and Emotional Intelligence
The L.I.G.H.T. Program stands for Learning, Independence, Growth, Helping Thrive.
The L.I.G.H.T. Program helps members strengthen the skills needed for emotional awareness, communication, self-advocacy, confidence, employment readiness, and meaningful connection. The program includes:
Individual Coaching: Personalized guidance to build emotional awareness, self-regulation, and job-readiness.
Small Group Workshops: Interactive skill-building sessions that focus on teamwork, communication, problem-solving, emotional awareness, and leadership.
Peer-Led Meetups: Safe, welcoming spaces for members to practice social connection, connect with others, and build real-world confidence.
Family Integration Sessions: Training that helps families understand and reinforce emotional intelligence, communication, and participant growth at home.
The L.I.G.H.T. Program was designed to fill the gap between emotional growth and employability. By blending emotional intelligence with practical support, we help our members build confidence, prepare for meaningful opportunities, and thrive in real life and work.
The L.I.G.H.T. Program leverages FeelWise tools.
Our Approach
Our programs are trauma-informed, person-centered, and built on lived experience. Every Minds of Light coach, mentor, and facilitator is trained to understand and respect neurodivergent communication styles, sensory needs, and learning differences.
Through collaboration with inclusive employers, charter schools, and community partners, we create real-world learning environments that prepare members for sustainable independence. These partnerships allow our members to practice new skills in safe, inclusive spaces while building confidence and community.
Our Impact
Our model transforms emotional intelligence into employability. Participants learn to communicate effectively, manage stress, and navigate relationships at work and in daily life. The result is greater emotional stability, stronger family connections, and improved access to meaningful employment.
By equipping neurodivergent individuals with tools to self-regulate, adapt, and lead, Minds of Light closes the opportunity gap and builds pathways toward long-term growth and success.
Our Vision
We envision a world where neurodivergent individuals are not only included but empowered to innovate, inspire, and shine their unique light.
Together, we can build a future where emotional intelligence, understanding, and inclusion become the foundation for success — in life, in work, and in every community.
