Help neurodivergent individuals build stronger social-emotional skills, confidence, communication, and meaningful connections.
Minds of Light is looking for compassionate, dependable coaches who believe in meeting people where they are and helping them develop practical skills they can use in everyday life.
About the coaching role
Minds of Light coaches provide individualized support to autistic and neurodivergent individuals through one-on-one coaching.
Coaches work with participants on goals related to social-emotional skills, communication, relationships, emotional awareness, self-advocacy, confidence, and navigating real-life situations.
Our approach is strengths-based and individualized. The goal isn't to change who someone is, but to help each person develop skills and strategies that work for them.
Meet individually with participants and provide personalized, goal-focused support.
Help participants strengthen communication, emotional awareness, relationships, self-advocacy, and other practical skills.
Work with participants to identify meaningful goals and support them as they practice and build new skills.
Help participants work through situations they encounter in friendships, relationships, work, school, family life, and their communities.
Complete required session notes, progress documentation, scheduling, and other program records.
Communicate with the Minds of Light team and follow established coaching standards, policies, and program procedures.
Compassionate, patient, dependable, and nonjudgmental
Comfortable working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals
A strong communicator and listener
Able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
Comfortable working independently in a virtual environment
Organized enough to manage appointments and required documentation
Open to training, feedback, and following the Minds of Light coaching model
Committed to respecting neurodivergent individuals rather than trying to make them appear more neurotypical
I would be careful about publishing specific education, certification, experience, background-check, or licensing requirements until Alison and Tina have finalized exactly what is mandatory.
Important Scope of the Role
Minds of Light coaching is educational, supportive, and goal-focused. Coaches do not provide psychotherapy, counseling, diagnosis, medical treatment, psychiatric treatment, or crisis intervention through their Minds of Light coaching role.
Coaches are expected to remain within the established scope of the program and follow Minds of Light policies regarding situations requiring clinical or emergency support.
This is especially important on a recruiting page because applicants need to understand the boundary before applying.
Complete our online coach application and tell us about your background, experience, and interest in Minds of Light.
Selected applicants will be invited to an interview so we can learn more about you and you can learn more about the role.
Qualified candidates complete the required onboarding, agreements, training, and any applicable screening requirements.
Once approved, you'll receive information about our coaching process and preparation for working with participants..
